The La Neomudejar Museum inaugurates an exhibition by Puerto Rican artist Heriberto Nieves on the 29th at 12:00 p.m. of its creation "Nous Sommes La Terre."

This sculptural installation work is based on research on the current processes that result in the climate change of the planet and from which, the artist, deepens the affectation that this causes to nature, the development of plants and their devastating consequences for the life of species. As a central axis will be the sculpture of light, sound, moving vegetation "natural pet" to which will be added a series of suspended metal pieces where it combines its mastery between steel, oxidity, gold and other alloys with plant compounds.

Wednesday to Sunday 11:00-15:00 and 17:00-21:00 h.

C/Antonio Nebrija, s/n. Madrid.

Heriberto's work, he is a three-dimensional poet, his work is of an impeccable plastic level where he combines the lyrical with the conceptual with the mastery of forms, putting in value the pattern that nature conveys to us, from the circle, the golden measure, which is common to all species and that has been universally adopted by all ancestral cultures. The Circle has been part of the unique seal of Heriberto's work, the iconography of the circle from the astronomical perspective, can evoke us the lunar cycles and their influence on the life, tides and climate cycles of the planet. There is an unequivocal stamp in Heriberto's work snow that is his teacher in composition, the transfer by means of techniques of moving a plant map of the territory and integrating it into the production of his work as a formal element that is integrated with the rest of materials of order as different as oxides, black steel and gold. This exhibition marks a differential fact, since the works have been produced in Zapadores Ciudad del Arte in a record time which confirms the capacity and mastery of the sculptor who is already famous for his production capacity.

Heriberto Nieves has a long international trajectory and its large-format works are based on emblematic spaces of Puerto Rico and other countries. The artist has created red waves near the beaches of Puerto Rico, stunning celestial bodies full of lyricism and mystery in France, South Korea and China, yellow waterfalls that are born of stone mountains, secret maps full of "currencies"/ "lunas" has decided on this occasion, for his exhibition entitled "Nous Sommes La Terre" to resume the circle. His personal stamp is already the first time he has made a single in Spain. The museum is happy that this project fulfills the function of welcoming the great masters of the visual arts, while connecting them with new generations of artists. Recently the teacher has signed from his "Hiberto Nieves Foundation" an agreement with the Spanish institution Arthouse Spain to bring to Spain young Puerto Rican talents. Currently 3 of his scholarship (Miguel Feliciano Barba (Feba), Andrés Meléndez and Marcos Vicéns) are developing their projects in residence in Zapadores Ciudad del Arte de Madrid and Kárstica creative space in Cuenca.

To talk about Heriberto Nieves is to talk about one of the emblematic voices of art in the Caribbean, his large public work, receives from the airport any visitor to the island, the stylization of the forms and geometries have made him worthy of the recognition of "La Cite des Arts" in Paris, where he has been an honorary resident for more than 25 years.

Plastic artist and urban sculptor. Museums and international halls of France, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, among others, have been scenes in which this creator has made multiple exhibitions and received great ovations. The works of Nieves give respect to the maximums of restraint and balance of classicism, which have been recognized at the Southern Biennial in Panama (2013) as a special guest, with gold medal at the International Art Olympics held in Beijing, China (2008), with silver medal at the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence, Italy (2005); Governor's Medal, International Symposium on Sculpture, State of Trujillo, Venezuela.
